Opening March 28: Re-coding the Comatorium
Re-coding the Comatorium, an exhibition by Nabuurs&VanDoorn, opens March 28.
Developed during their residency at Nieuw en Meer, this project explores the tension between documentation and intervention, spectatorship and suspension. Through conceptual and photographic interventions, Nabuurs&VanDoorn deconstruct societal codes and digital narratives, challenging perceptions of truth and memory.
At the core of the project is Vessel to Vessel, a post-performance stroll mapping forty locations across Amsterdam, collapsed into a single perspective. This intervention distorts reality through digital color codes, suspending the viewer between fact and fiction.
Blending traditional black-and-white photography partly erased by digital manipulations, the artists create a space where identity, surveillance, and urban myth converge. Rather than offering answers, their work provokes questions, revealing unseen codes that shape our experience of the city.
Join us for the opening on March 28 (16:00–18:00) or visit the exhibition on March 29 (15:00–17:00).
