Finn Theuws’ practice spans sculpture, spatial intervention, and audiovisual media. Drawing on queer methodologies and material culture, Theuws unsettles conventions governing objects, interactions, and social structures. He proposes alternative ways of engaging with their embedded logics and prescribed use. Rather than only illustrating fixed ideas, his work embraces disorientation as a generative condition. In the making process, intuition can intervene and reshape the ideas that inform his practice. In the encounter with the work, disorientation precedes interpretation, allowing meaning to unfold through direct experience. Humor, surreal displacements, and poetic distortions guide his formal decisions. Alongside his practice, Theuws co-founded terra(t)rium, a platform for research, performance, workshops, exhibitions, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Kunstenaarslandgoed Nieuw & Meer opent op zaterdag 5 en zondag 6 september het terrein voor BUITENBEELD: een kunstmanifestatie met werk van ruim vijftig kunstenaars, verspreid over het bijzondere buitenterrein aan de rand van Amsterdam. Beeldende kunst, installaties en performances ontmoeten er livemuziek, tuinen, ateliers en woonwagens. Niet binnen, maar juist BUITENBEELD.
