On the first Saturday after the annual Gipsy Jazz Festival in Samois-sur-Seine / Fontainebleau (France), held in honor of the musical legacy of Django Reinhardt, "Petit Samois" is celebrated in the Netherlands. This intimate music festival takes place among the caravans in the backyard of Nieuw en Meer.
The festival was founded in 1990 by caravan resident and bassist Cor Jonker. Since then, it has become a beloved tradition, continued every year by the community—even after Cor’s departure.
