Kate: Parabellum II Vince Donders

25-04-2025 - 25-04-2025

Vince Donders has spent April at the Artist in Residence program at Nieuw en Meer, creating a work for the outdoor grounds. He will present it on May 2nd.

Vince's work examines the relationship between human progress and ecological decline, drawing from industrial landscapes and the environmental impact of mass production and pollution. His art reflects on how industrialization has transformed our world, spreading toxic substances across ecosystems, bodies, and products. Vince invites viewers to reflect on progress, its consequences, and the balance we must find for a sustainable future.

On May 2nd, Hello (place) by the Octa collective will also be on view at Kate. This exhibition explores the concept of "livelihood security" and the challenges of finding space in society today. It features collaborations by Bas Burghhard, Sachi Miyachi, Bas Oussoren, Tom Putman, Bart Schalekamp, and Samantha Vlaming, responding to issues of temporariness, displacement, and nomadic living.

'Tell me' is an installation by Sanne van Balen, also based at Nieuw & Meer. It connects language and landscape through her lanterns from Watou, now reimagined for this ongoing installation. The lamps will only be lit at dusk, offering a poetic experience throughout the year.
