Jazmin Charalambous (b. 1991, London) operates on the cusp of art and architecture. Her work focuses on landscape interventions designed to provoke flashes of understanding between people and emphasizing the need for heterogeneity in public space.
At Nieuw en Meer she will explore social exclusion and how it manifests into the fabric of the city. The project will be investigated by analysing human behaviours through mapping, photography, drawing and model-making. The focus will be on exploring structures for the public realm and imagining possible urban spaces designed for those who do not conform to conventional everyday normalities of the majority.
